Blue Forest Banshee Part 41

It's just the dream again... The one that comes and comes and comes... The one that makes me curl in the corner, hands over my ears and eyes shut so tight they hurt. Just a dream. And it's all mine, all for me...

It's dark.

Maybe it's just me.

Maybe it isn't even dark.

I'm standing in the Clan hall. Dozens of my kin are there.

They don't notice me. They never do.

I'm not there. I never was.

There is no "I" to me.

No soul.

No consciousness.

No reality, no belief, no existence.

There is no "me"; there never was.

A handful of mist, a wisp of random, scattered thoughts, left behind by creatures that had existence once upon a time.

No one sees me, or what passes for "me" in these random pulses of ego or thought.

No end to the dark, no end to the cold.

I pass on by, wishing, dreaming, if ever a breath of mist can dream.

How long? No time, no movement, no change to me.

I'm just the wraith in the shadow.

The darkness no one sees.

No beginning, no end.

No joy, no pain.

No me.

Just the dream. Again.

This and the following part do not necessarily fall at any particular point in the story. The numbering is for my convenience only. The Dragon is easily confused.
