Wolfkin Part 12
Settling In

Wufei sighed as he led his new clan brother about the forest. He and Trowa had both been assigned to help him choose trees for his and his women's dwelling. His eyebrow twitched as yet another tree was turned down. "And what, may I ask was wrong with that one?" Trowa gave him a warning look but he just ignored it. Nicoli smirked at his annoyance and replied. "All of the trees we've looked at are very old and full of magical energy. Liliandra would be very upset with me if she discovered I'd needlessly hacked down a couple of 'life-givers', as she calls them."

The dark-haired Wolfkin huffed. "Well, are there going to be any large trees that aren't old and filled with energy?" The pale man closed his ice blue eyes and turned away from Wufei. Thinking he'd been ignored the impatient Beta was about to begin a brutal tongue-lashing when he heard his victim muttering something. Listening closer, mutters turned to words. "Great lord Hades, show me the path, give me the sight. Let me see the energy of life and magic, let me behold to mine eyes the power of life."

Turning, he opened his eyes, causing both Wufei and the ever-silent Trowa to gasp. His cold ice blue eyes glowed with and eerie light as he glanced about the clearing. "Hmmm... that one over there and the two behind it as well. They maybe old and large but they're energy is leaving them. They're preparing to leave this plain of existence." He started toward the trees he'd pointed out when a hand stopped him. "How, exactly, do you know that?" Wufei asked as he removed his hand. Nicoli shrugged. "It's just a spell magicians of my order use. It allows you to see the forces of life and, if you wish, death as well." Trowa narrowed his green eyes as he watched the tall man.

"And order would that be?" Nicoli smirked as he started for the trees. "Necromancy of course."

"Over here is were I keep all the medications and herbs used in making them. Here's the examination table and the running water I use to wash up with before every patient is over there. I think that about covers it." Quatre smiled brightly as he led his new assistant around his hut. "Impressive, Master Healer. It's good to see my son's new clan had such a talented Healer." Quatre beamed with pride as he and the Elf took seats at his desk. "Miss Liliandra, if it's not to forward of me, there's something I've been dying to ask you." Liliandra smiled warmly at the blonde before answering. "You can call me Lily if you like, Nicky does it all the time. I don't mind really, go ahead and ask. I doubt the question is as forward as you'd think."

"Umm... Ok. This may seem a bit strange but, I mean how many Elves am I ever going to met! Uh... How.... old... are... you?" Liliandra laughed brightly and the little Healers hesitation before answering. "And here I thought it would be something that would make me blush! I'm only three thousand five hundred and nineteen!" Quatre's jaw dropped open as he stared at the youthful looking girl before him.

"NECROMANCY?!!! You mean the black arts?!!!" Wufei's voice seemed to break the sound spectrum and he shouted at the strange man walking from them. "Bilairy's Balls! Not this again!"[1] He turned huffing slightly as he began to explain. "There is nothing evil about either art of Necromancy." Both Trowa and Wufei exchanged confused looks. "Either art? I thought there was only one." The black-haired Wolfkin stated as he and his companion approached the necromancer. "A common misconception. There are, in fact, two forms of Necromancy, White and Black. White deals with life and spells that consist of healing wounds, poisons, death, etc. I myself study the other school. Black has to do with death and spells that call to the spirit world and give life to long dead tissue."

"I was under the impression that Necromancers could raise the dead and bid them to their will." Trowa stated in an emotionless voice. "Oh yes, the reanimation of deceased organisms. I don't like to use that particular technique unless backed into a corner. You have no idea how upsetting it is to see rotting corpses stumbling around with artificial life. Ewww. I get the shivers just thinking about it. Now, how about we take this tree with us." Nicoli smirked as he pulled out his trusty chain whip and lashed out at the tree before them. The links and barbed tip sliced through the bark like warm butter, successfully felling the once proud Oak. "TIMBER!!!!" The Half Immortal cried before ducking for cover.

"HALT! WHO GOES THERE?!" [2] The guards posted at the entrance to the Eora Village bellowed as he watched the new comer. The boy was tall, long legs clad in tight red pants that hung low on his hips in the sun's heat. A form fitting white and silver trimmed shirt just above his abdomen giving the casually viewer a tantalizing glimpse of his belly button and hard abs. Smiling slightly, the boy brushed his strawberry hair out of shining blue eyes. "I'm looking for my mother. Perhaps you've seem her, and Elf by the name of Liliandra?"

Liliandra was chuckling slightly at Quatre's astounded face when she felt a familiar mind reach out to her own. Hello Rion, I'll liberate you in just a moment. "Quatre, my other son, Rion, has just arrived. Maybe we should go meet him, the guards don't seem to want to let him into the village." The blonde raised an eyebrow but nodded and stood with her. As they walked toward the village entrance, a figure Quatre didn't recognize came into view. "That's him." Liliandra informed him as they reached the guards. "Did the traders have anything interesting?"

Rion smiled as she embraced him. "Not really. But I did find a dagger with an unusual hilt, Uncle Nicoli might find it useful." The mage smiled. "Lady Isis, just what that man needs, more weapons!" Turning she introduced Quatre. "Rion, this is Quatre he's the clan Healer." The boy smiled slightly. "It's an honor to met you master Healer. I hope you take good care of my little brother."

"You shouldn't be so worried about him, you were always the trouble maker!" Rion blushed hotly at this. "Mother!"

Duo smiled happily as he stroked his round belly. It wouldn't be long now, soon his little son would enter the world and he and Heero would be parents. He couldn't wait! Yawning he lay down to sleep. He'd just drifted into a light slumber when a sharp pain woke him from his dreams. His entire abdomen cramped with the pain and his gasped, biting his lip to hold in his scream. The pain left him eventually and he sat panting, trying desperately figure out what had caused his discomfort. Suddenly, it came again and through his pain hazed mind he realized. 'Oh gods... the pup is coming.'

[1] If you didn't get this line then you haven't read Lynn Flewelling's Luck in the Shadows, Stalking Darkness, and Traitors Moon. They are awesome books! Tiny summery: Seregil is a sorta-spy, Alec is an orphan hunter, Seregil rescues Alec and takes him on as his apprentice. He doesn't know why at first but considering they become lovers... I think you can draw your own conclusion. Seregil is one of the funniest and most sarcastic characters I've ever read, Alec is definitely the most innocent! You'll either fall head over heels in love with them or want to kill them there is no middle ground. But by the end of the second book, you'll all want to behead Ylinstra with me!
[2] I just couldn't help myself!

Sorry this took so long. I've been having a hard time at work and I've had almost no time to write. Don't worry though, I'm planning on writing anytime I'm awake on my days off though.
