Note: For fiery robin - I couldn't find a copy of the ad. But I did do the whole sending flowers to Heero bit with Relena as the curious secretary... hope it's somewhat close...

Roses

Relena lifted an eyebrow at the deliveryman. "Again?"

"Again," he smiled and held the form out for her to sign.

Relena signed and then took the bouquet from the deliveryman. The roses arrived every Monday morning without fail. She was too polite to try and sneak a look at the card before she carried them into her boss' office, but it was a mystery.

This week they were pink. They were usually pink, though a few times there had been bouquets of orange roses. Why only those two colors, Relena couldn't guess.

She opened the door to the office and carried the flowers in. "Just arrived," she said and her boss looked up and grunted. She placed the flowers into the empty vase on the corner of his desk- it was always there, waiting and ready.

As always, Heero reached for the card, opened it, read it, and then tossed it into his top drawer- the one he always locked before he left the office. As always, his cheeks turned a faint pink after reading it.

Relena wondered for what seemed the millionth time who was sending the flowers. She knew her boss wasn't married, she knew that no women called the office for him. He had a few buddies who dropped in occasionally to go out to lunch with him, but that was it.

At least that was all she saw in the office... who knew what the man did on the weekends?

It had to be something good- those roses weren't cheap...

Relena sighed and sat back down at her desk. Someday she'd figure it out.

The door to the office swung open a few hours later. "Hey 'Lena!" The man in the doorway gave her a charming grin. "Is the boss-man in?"

"Of course," Relena smiled back. Duo Maxwell, Heero's best friend, always showed up on Mondays too- usually to drag Heero off to lunch. "He's in the middle of a conference call though- so give him a minute."

"No problem." Duo perched on the edge of her desk. "So, how are those darling twins of yours? Still trying to imitate Dad in every way?"

Relena laughed. "More so than ever! Wufei finally had to give in and start fencing lessons with them."

"They're what? Five? Isn't that kinda young?"

"Try telling them that." Relena gave Duo a considering look. "You sound like you'd love kids- how come you haven't settled down and had some yet?"

Duo shrugged. "Ah, I just haven't found 'the one' yet."

He looked uncomfortable, so Relena decided to change the subject. "Say, Duo- can I ask you something? About Heero?"

"Sure," Duo lost his uncomfortable look. "Is something wrong?"

"No. It's just... every Monday Heero gets roses. Do you know who sends them? I didn't think he had a girlfriend- at least- none ever call here."

Duo flushed slightly. "Yeah, he's mentioned the flowers to me. I guess it's a secret admirer."

"Really?" Relena looked at the closed office door. "He doesn't know who's sending them?"

Duo shook his head. "Nope. It's a mystery."

"How romantic," Relena sighed, and then frowned. "Wait- I've been working here for a year- and he's always gotten them. Why hasn't this person done anything?"

Duo shrugged. "Too nervous maybe?"

"After a year- or even more...?" Relena shook her head. "That's too bad. I get the idea sometimes that Heero... well, that he needs someone. He seems so lonely. I wish who ever it was would get over their nerves and just ask him out..."

Before Duo could reply, the office door swung open.

"Duo."

"Heero," Duo grinned. "I've come to steal you for lunch."

"So I guessed." Heero shook his head. "I'll be back in an hour," He told Relena and followed Duo out the door.

But he wasn't.

He didn't come back for two hours, and when he walked in the door, he was smiling... Relena held her tongue, but she wasn't surprised when Duo showed up a few more times during the week for more of those long lunches....

And she had to stop herself from grinning like an idiot when she took Monday's delivery into Heero and placed the dark red roses on his desk...
