Note: Just an extra little something-something. i.e. This could have been the ending scene, but I didn't think it would have ended the series on the right note.
Slow and Steady Bonus Scene 1
Wufei turned just enough to see who was approaching, then returned his attention to his task. "Yevchenko. Grady." The two in question greeted him in return. "What are you two doing here this morning?"
"I decided this guy needed more practice," Yevchenko responded, jerking his thumb in Grady's direction.
Grady sighed dramatically. "Maybe, but did we have to do it at seven o'clock in the morning?"
"You're dragging our team effort down, Grady. Suck it up."
"Are you filming a promotional video or something?" he asked Chang, obviously changing the subject. Chang was following the progress of the guys out on the course with a small video camera.
"No." Wufei didn't elaborate any further. The recording would be sent off to Heero's doctor back on L1, and probably his physical therapists as well, to keep them apprised of his progress since leaving them.
"Who are they?" Yevchenko asked curiously. Chang was a high-ranking agent. He wouldn't be out here for a couple of low-level greenies.
"Agents Maxwell and Yuy."
"They're good. Taking their time, though."
"Hey," Grady protested. "I just 'take my time', too. Why isn't that also good?"
"Because you suck," his senior partner retorted. "They're taking their time, but they're not struggling with any of it. You, on the other hand..."
"Like I'm ever going to have to run an obstacle course in real life."
"One year ago," Wufei informed him crisply. "Agent Yuy was in a wheelchair and could not walk. Today, he is running the obstacle course, and loving every moment of it. Remember that the next time you feel like whining."
